As part of the ERC 'Kids Save Lives' Campaign, toward the end of 2017 the MRC donated 5 trainer AEDs and various consumables including face shields and AED pads to the Division of Education. With this donation, the Health and Safety Unit within the Division of Education became self-sufficient in terms of equipment to run full BLS-AED courses for students.
Furthermore, since this donation, the MRC has helped train a further number of teachers to be able to instruct in BLS-AED, and the Health and Safety Unit has completed training for more students.
All of these efforts are aimed toward the ultimate goal of introducing BLS-AED training/skills within the National Curriculum for all schoolchildren aged 14 years in Malta and Gozo.
