HeartSmartMalta: Call for Abstracts

The Malta Resuscitation Council is inviting researchers to register their interest in submitting an abstract for HeartSmartMalta 2026 , an international conference dedicated to excellence in resuscitation science, education, and clinical practice following the launch of the new ERC Guidelines 2025.

We invite the submission of abstracts related to (but not limited to) the following themes:

• Adult and paediatric cardiac arrest management including trauma

• Post-resuscitation care

• Basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS)

• Resuscitation education, training, and simulation

• Community response, public access defibrillation, and first responder programs

• Ethics, decision-making, and end-of-life considerations

• Quality improvement, audit, and registries in resuscitation

• Innovation, technology, and research in resuscitation science

 Important Dates

Abstract submission deadline: Monday, 9 March 2026

Notification of acceptance: To be communicated following peer review

Conference dates: 24–25 April 2026

Submission Guidelines

• Abstracts should be original work and not previously published

• Submissions should clearly outline background, method, results, and conclusions (as applicable)

• All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Scientific Committee, chaired by Prof. Simon Attard Montalto

• At least one author of accepted abstracts must register for the conference
