The ERC Guidelines 2025on Resuscitation for Everyone

What happens in the first few minutes is a matter of life and death. When someone’s heart stops, these moments are the most important. Very often the first person able to help is not a physician or a nurse: in the vast majority of events, it is a family member, friend or bystander who knows CPR who is called upon to act.

The European Resuscitation Council is sharing a brochure about the 2025 Guidelines on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). It has been written and produced for the general public, describing the immediate responses needed when someone experiences a cardiac arrest. The brochure can be downloaded from here:

The brochure explains in plain language when and how to perform CPR, because knowing what to do gives bystanders like you the abilities and the confidence to act to save a life.
